The Traje de Mestiza (Filipiniana or Maria Clara dress) is a variant of the traditional Baro’t Saya, an outfit of the early Filipinos that was influenced by the traditional garments of the indigenous tribes of the Philippines. The Traje de Mestiza was worn by Filipino women of the Principalía or noble class of the 18th and 19th centuries.
