The Art Circle Cafe Makati, through the support of 8Tri Media Pro, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), and BrownPot Art Hut, brings the cultural and art show Pinagmulan (Origin) to the public on its opening gala on August 7, 2016 at the Y2 Hotel right-wing lobby. Pinagmulan is a collaboration among artists, Maria Remedios Olivares (visual arts), Lakan Olivares (visual arts), and Twinkle Ferraren (fashion) with performing artist Joey Ayala (for music).
Coinciding with the coming week’s celebration of the National Day of the Indigenous Peoples, there is more to coming together to share creations and the co-creative spirit to everyone. Collectively, the artists solicit support for culture-based governance with its promotion of precolonial myths of the Philippine Islands through Pinagmulan’s multi-dimensional platform — the eclectic mix of new media art (fractal) with folk art, and the neo-ethnic duet between fashion and music.
By interweaving disciplines in its fusion of tactile, sight, and sound experience for its audience, Pinagmulan aims to capture the philosophies that are universal yet quite distinct for an environment that is in itself, a convergence of many cultures and colors.
The exhibit opening gala starts at 4 p.m. on August 7, Sunday.
The Pinagmulan exhibit runs from August 7 to 22, 2016
